Desperately Seeking Susan Music

Hear ye, Hear ye...

Kitty is desperately trying to locate the following music, 'torrentally' of course (wink wink) but having NO success:

ABBA MANIA (don't judge me!)
ABBA MANIA 2 (I said don't judge me!)
The Kransky Sisters (I dare you to judge me!) in that mode of desperation that We find ourself in We come to you... our Kittens. and by Kittens I'm pretty much speaking to Shirl... cause it seems she's got the 'music horse-shoe' snug up inside her (I say that with love)... but if you're NOT Shirley and you can help a Kitty out...

Get 'Em While They're Hot!

I pray that no one you know in the next 4-32+ weeks (yes... 36+ weeks!) requires a diagnostic test for: Cancer or Heart Disease, because chances are slim to none they'll get it, especially those in Canada, the US and other parts of the globe.

Not sure what this is all about...

...pretty much just type in "Chalk River" into the News Site of your choice and you'll soon get the picture.

I work in the industry, and I have to tell you this; this is NOT going to be pretty. And IF, as latest reports are suggesting that the Chalk River facility might be shut down for as much as 8 + months then yes, cancer and heart disease in individuals WILL go undetected and it's possible that because of this some people will die un-necessarily.

YES there will still be some isotope out there, and some will get there tests but it's 40% of the global supply being divided by 100% of the demand.

I am by no means a scare monger, this is what it is, an aging Nuclear Reactor that supplies an estimated 60% of the GLOBAL demand for Medical Grade Radioactive Isotopes is offline with NO time frame available for restarting and of the remain 4 Reactors on the globe that provide the same Isotopes (sharing that remaining 40% of the global demand, one is currently offline and another is scheduled to go offline in July for 8-12 weeks for it's own maintenance...

I already know of one diagnostic clinic that will be closing it's doors temporarily as of Monday, and a couple others that will be temporarily laying off employees (as was the case in December 2007) And if this goes on, to the length as is being mentioned than many others will be the same boat, and could in all likelihood include the company I work for...

...and of all these layoffs - temporary or otherwise, the fear, the unknown of this reality pales in comparison to ANYONE that will have to have their tests postponed.

Sunday in the Park with George Santiago

Today was a very special day at our house... or more accurately NEAR our house... we took the wee monster out for his first proper walk... and play time in a park.

We'd been doing a little leash training in the house with the little bean, but it was not going well, so I thought to hell with it, I'll throw him in a bag and we'll take him over to a park nearby and see what happens.

Well we COULD NOT HAVE BEEN PROUDER... he was a little shaky at first, but then it was cold out (hence his hoodie) and it was a LOT of new: Sights, Sounds, Smells to take in all at once. But he did it and within 1 minute on the grass he was responding to some local news report and reading a LOT of other doggie-news all over the place. He even met a lovely lady schnauzer named Ashley...

We stayed about 30 mins and even let him off the leach to play some fetch, but with so much going on all around his attention span was shorted than a 7 year old in Disneyland and half the time he'd just run past his duckie and sniff something far more important.

When we returned home we figured since he was doing so well on the leash, we'd continue walking instead of putting him back in the shoulder bag... and he could not have been better... seemingly preferring the sidewalk to the grass even... but then grass doesn't tickle your tackle...

I know it seems like a small thing, but We are some proud Papis!

For more on Senor Santiago's day, and a short vid.. you can scoot on over to Santiago's blog...

Happy Victoria Day Weekend!

Well it's Victoria Day Weekend, here in Canada at least... I hope you're all having a ripping good time...

I was fortunate enough to find a copy of a very RARE portrait of her Majesty, one that is not well know, if only because of it's harsh, brutal portrayal of her very late in life, when she was rather corpulent and unsightly; hideous in fact... but to embrace and celebrate such a fine Monarch, I feel it incumbent that we embrace all that she was and is...

Rule Britannia!
Britannia rule the waves
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.

Look who's Forty!

Yes Kittens...

...Forty years ago today, Walter Chell, bartender at the Owl's Nest Bar in the Calgary Inn (now Calgary Westin Hotel) in Calgary, Alberta invented the most holy of holy Canadian

The Bloody Caesar

I implore you to celebrate this day in the only imaginable way possible...

- 6 oz. Mott's Clamato Juice
- 1½ oz. Vodka (treat yourself... go for 2 oz.)
- 2+ Dashes Tabasco Sauce
- 2+ Dashes Worcestershire Sauce
- Celery salt (or Caesar Rim)
- Freshly Ground Pepper
- Lime/Lemon wedge
- 1 Crisp Celery Stalk

Rim highball glass first with the lemon slice and then the celery salt or rimmer. Fill this glass with ice. Add vodka and juice to ice, and season with pepper, Worcestershire Sauce, and Tabasco. Stir, and then garnish with a celery stick.

To Walter Chell... CHEERS!

See ya next February...

I honestly don’t know what to think, but I can tell you this, the H-bomb won’t make a difference to these people….

I’m glad they finally revealed Jacob,(and personally I think he’s a bit of a dish) but pissed we only have one mini season left that won’t start til Feb 2010...

Did you watch it?
What did you think?
Is the ’live John’ the ‘real John’, and if not who is he?
Who the HELL are the people with ‘dead John’?
Who was that with Jacob on the beach?

ps. I still miss Charlie.

O[vo] My God!

What can I tell you about OVO?

It was phenomenally AMAZING!

The stage.
the costumes.
the music.
...and naturally, and most importantly, the artists: Acrobats, contortionists, comedians, jugglers, even the band...

If you'll remember, we went to see KOOZA two years ago, and I thought that was amazing! And really it was, but OVO was a notch above. It was so complete a show, so cohesive and well rounded (pun intended) that there were times you thought you WERE looking at Grasshoppers and Ants and Spiders and Mosquitoes...

The two hour show seemed to fly by (heh) in a matter of a few minutes.

If you get a chance... GO!
(leave the bug spray at home)

And in the center ring...

We're off to see the Cirque du Soliel...
