"Similar bans had prevailed in 27 states before Tuesday's elections, but none were in California's situation, with about 18,000 gay couples already married. The state attorney general, Jerry Brown, has said those marriages will remain valid, although legal challenges are possible."
Misster Kitty! Don't drop the soap Ma Horton gave you! ;)
This really sucks hard. ESP for those ppl who already got married! I am surprised bc California seems like such a cutting edge state, y'know? Always very forward-thinking....
There are rumblings of a Supreme Court challenge this dumbass vote: the issue is whether it is actually constitutional to forbid a whole group of people to marry. Let's hope the courts are smarter than the voters!
Well, as usual we are fighting it by all means go sign the petition to have out Repulican dumb ass governor over turn Prop. 8, it's worth a try. ;) peace www.petitiononline.com/seg5130/petition.html
