Unjust flight restrictions!

With less than 48 hours before we jet off to France I am at that awkward stage of having to weigh my luggage to ensure I don't get ripped off at check in...

... I mean REALLY! How they expect a fag to travel to PARIS FUCKING FRANCE for TWO WEEKS with no more than 23 kg of checked luggage and 10 kg of carry on is BEYOND me...

Ah but Mitty has a work around... here's a tip... LapTop bags are FREE carry on, with no weight restrictions... I have one of those expandable ones... and I can assure you it will be packed tighter than a polish sausage over Easter!

Hate to bust your bubble there Kitty, but there ARE weight restrictions for carry on. You'll want to check with your airline and find out what that is.

I have a backpack/camera case that is within the size limits for carry on. I stuff as much of my camera gear as I can in there 'cuz I don't want to risk a few grand worth of lenses in the hands of the ground crews.

Each of the last 2 flights I've taken, I've been nailed for going over the limit.

Thanks for the offer Kitty, but sadly I can't leave my elderly husband (43) to fend for himself he has injured his back lifting weights, and that means I'm fetching and carrying about after him, like an unpaid skivvy. I do look forward to a train journey, a can of larger in one hand and a woman's weekly in the other, lazily watching the countryside race by, Doris Day singing Sentimental Journey on the ipod. Bliss! The last time I was on eurostar they were some english protesters wearing "Geese in distress" t-shirts! I'll be listening out for the sound of airplanes when I'm pegging out the washing. Will you be passing over England? Anyway, have a lovely time and mind the dog shit!
