In shock!

Ok, so I'm not the BEST speller in the world, but then that's what's 'spell check' is for right.

Well when I wrote the post about skating with my nephew Raphael I typed on the work 'vinegar'. I accidentally typed 'viniger'. Now, I'll admit that that is a little embarrassing. What is MORE embarrassing is what was suggested as a replacement of the word.

I've taken a screen shot, as, quite frankly I cannot even make myself type the word(s) And No 'vinegar' was not in any of the suggested replacements...

Tell me I am not the only one a little shocked by this....

well, it's part of history & language, nothing you can do about it.
as to being appropriate, no, enough to give you shivers, when you consider that human beings were considered, & treated like cattle...
can't blame the PC for what humans did...
just a reminder that it's there, marring man's history.
must have been quite a shock though!!!
:D~
not quite what you'd be expecting...

I don't deny it's a word that's out there, but for the checker to give me ont only one, but FIVE variations, while at the same time not giving me anything closer to the word I was going for... gotta say, it was a shock.

... besides I don't think there's any time it's applicable to be used. Period.

true,
but don't blame your PC.
it's got no prejudice...
maybe you could dig into that program to set some rules
excluding such things...
good luck!!
:D~

I feel the same about Scrabblous on Facebook ..they let you have a "q" without a "u" and take abbrevs ( yes I know I have dam abbrev )

MA! you on crackbook?
I'm addicted to Scrabblous... even though it cannot count and allows some proper nouns but not others.

It let me add Jones, but not Aztec ?!?!?! and Aztec was gonna be a double word score! :-(
