we be trippin'

Road Trippin' that is...

Next weekend, we're headed to Oshawa. Hey! don't judge us! We're going there, along with four others, to spend the weekend at friends, to attend their annual pool party blow out. (Men, men and more men, booze and clothing optional)

Anyhoo, the reason for this particular post is because I'm gonna throw together a couple CDs for the trip and I wanted to ask for your suggestions as to 'great road trip songs'.

Don't hold back, but please keep in mind it's going to be a vehicle full of gay men, so ease up on the:
"Life is a Highway by Tom Cochrane" ,
"On the Road Again by Willie Nelson",
"Born to be Wild by Steppinwolf",
"Where the Streets Have No Name, by U2"
and "Everyday is a Winding Road by Sheryl Crow" type-suggestions...

...however...

"Where the Streets Have No Name, by PetShopBoys",
"Route 66 by Depeche Mode"
"Fly on the Windshield by Depeche Mode"
and
"These Boots are Made for Walking by Mz Nancy Sinatra" type-suggestions are MOST welcome...

Ok people, impress me!

With 6 gay men and their luggage, if we pick up a 'lone sexy hitchiker' we may have seating issues... oh... wait... never mind... :-)

Maria:
Um, not so much.... It's a 'Members only' event. And by 'members' I mean of course the gay gay gay club... of course I could also mean the member's 'members' if you know what I mean...

CakaS:

that is indeed worthy.

Not sure I like "CakaS"...

But the best thing about PQOTD is that it's a great sing-along album! Especially "I don't care if the sun don't shine, I get my lovin' in the evening time, when I'm with my baby" -- just cries out for out-of-tune warbling! Camp it up, Kitty!

I dunno I knida like CakaS heh...

And you're right, not only id the movie fun, but the sound track is infinitely singable!

Free Fallin' by Tom Petty. GREAT GREAT highway song. Sorry, i know it's in the 'ease off' category, but it's a good'un!

Hmmm Interesting choice, I might just have to do "Don't come around here no more" instead (I just figgin loved that video!) but Tom Petty is a good suggestion

Kitty dood... ya gotta add some spice with the likes of Donna Summer (On The Radio is a personal fav.), or how 'bout Patrick Hernandez's Born To Be Alive, or Abba, or some old school Michael Jackson (PYT)!

Have fun at your gay, uh, bash.

How about The caravan Song by Barbara Dickson:

Caravans, oh my soul is on the run
Overland, I am flying
Caravans moving out into the sun
Oh I don't know where I'm going
But I'm going

How about ... um ... the entire soundtrack from "The Muppet Movie".

What brings you to this neck of the proverbial woods, anyway?
