...when we used to be embarrassed and disappointed at coming in third place...
God, weren't those the days.
Hang in there Canada... I'm still rooting for ya...

When Canada starts supporting its athletes throughout the training process like most other countries do, then maybe we'll start collecting lots of medals, too. Until then we can't complain when some guy doesn't come first who has a full time job and has to train in a half-assed facility before work, nights and weekends and has to buy his own equipment and pay for time at the half-assed facility and stuff. Not to mention that our Prime Minister can't even be bothered going to any of the events or ceremonies even though most other world leaders are going.
What is impressive at least that many (especially in swimming) are either beating their personal best or beating a Canadian Record...
What I am happy is that there are many prior Canadian Olympic Champions at the games and they have been very vocal on the lack of support, training and guidance..

I could not agree more!

I do fear however for the 2010 Olympics...
Methinks three medals were won today by Canadians.
