IdFLQ - SPAIN

IdFLQ = International des Feux Loto-Quebec.

So tonight was the first night of this year's Fireworks Competition. Not a bad start, but not a WOW start either. There were only a couple 'Ouuuuuh, Ahhhhh" moments. Not an award winner in my eye.

To make matters worse, what we thought was going to be THE PERFECT VIEW of the fireworks has been hindered by a new building. We can see em ok, but it's not the view we had hoped. I predict a summer of a LOT of eggings for a certain Penthouse Condo. *wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more.*

OK... back to the fireworks. They were ok, the music was fun. Lots of swing music. We found ourselves singing to a couple of em. Fun. I took a whirl at taking a few pics. Nothing spectacular... but then my digital camera is basic and not at all whiz-bangy enough to do the fireworks justice. But for better or worse, here's a couple that, well, didn't totally suck.

Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.

Here's a pic I did not expect to be so nice... I'll try a couple more of these. I took this a couple minutes before the fireworks began. This is the church (St Pierre l'Apotre - St Peter the Apostle) that faces our condo. It was taken from the roof. I'll tell you this, we didn't see those amazing blues, in fact it was taken at 9:55pm so it was... well, dark. The only light was from the city. Me likey this one.

I dunno, I'm not so happy wif em. I will try again next week, see what happens. But I will for sure take more night pics of the city as I loved the colours, and since, for the most part, buildings tend to stay still... I should get some interesting pics.

I LOVE SIMON'S!!!!

I actually got a killer Roberto Cavalli tie there... Leopard Print natch'! I'll be wearing it on Sun when I go to my friends Big Fat Gay Wedding.

I already have some leopard print socks. If you like fun socks, Simon's is the place to go!

Happy shopping!

First: John, your cyber mouth should be washed out with soap. You go to the Timeout Corner for five minutes.

Next: John's right. They're f***ing gorgeous. For a minute there, I didn't realize all the oouuuhhh's and aaaahhh's were about the fireworks. I thought maybe you and Didier were making your own fireworks while you were posting. ;)

HA!

Sex, like fireworks is always better with their own soundtracks! hehe

It was weird taking the pics though... Milky was right, because of the point and click, and lack of the flash... You'd click the button and then like 45 seconds later the camera would take the pick... so you never knew what you'd get. Trust me These were the creme de la creme. I took about 20 pics! Oh well... that's ok . It was fun trying.

NGB: I can't believe YOU said that about the fireworks and well ummmmmm the sounds. I WAS thinking it BUT you said it!! YOU are sooooooooooo freakin' bad!

Maria is VERY shy!!

A SHY Greek girl.

OH! Wait! I get it... Hub keeps the Ouzo and Grappa under lock and key.

;-)

Maria said...

Ouzo - yummy!
Grappa - not so yummy!
Both give you a wicked headache!

Yup a SHY greek girl. Or at least SHY on most days and when SEX talk is involved. Again, all depends on how much ouzo has been consumed!! HA!

P.S: Garage Sale at my place this weekend. Come One! Come All!
Maybe even FREE souvlaki will be served.

Sean Newbury said...

I like Ouzo but it hase to be FREZER cold and served with ice and water.

Never had Grappa.

... garage sale... oh yea, like Didier is gonna let me go. HA! he complains about the amount of 'stuff' I have already, and that is AFTER I chucked, sold, gave away, donated over 1/2 my belongings before we moved in together in Dec.

NGB, the cuss-police... ;) To that I say "fuckity, fuckity, fuck, fuck, fuck".

mmmmm... soap

Maria said...

Tell Didier to come along and control your spending... lol

He sounds like MY husband, who also complains that I have too much stuff.

Ouzo should ONLY be served cold and with ice. Sometimes diluted with water for how potent it is!

BTW, someone has a potty mouth today!! Should we all join in so he does not feel so bad for swearing on his own?

FUDGE! There ya go!

Might I just say your shot of the church is eff-ity eff-ing amazing!

It's really amazing how much light the human eye can't see... but the camera can with a long exposure.

The framing of the shot, and the depth of the colours here are really effin' well done!

I'm effin' jealous!

Call me old fashioned but I'm fond of all the "Words you can't say on television" But I guess that's a little passé now... as you now pretty much hear all of em... well ok maybe # 4, 5 and 6 only on Cable... but you can hear em.

Besides, in my estimation there are very few words as truly versatile as 'fuck'. I love the word and use it probably too much for some... The only word I think that's as versatile is 'aloha' but lets face it. 'that was aloha amazing' or 'aloha you' or 'aloha off' just don't cut it...

Sean Newbury said...

Actually I'm pissed about that pic. I didnt have the camera level so had to rotate the image and then cut it but I notice now I missed some white space in the upper left. But I do like the effect and will certainly be taking more such shots, esceically around the neighbourhood.

but thank y'all might kind of yas!

The colours totally freaked me out!

John Mielke Photography said...

That white part in the upper left is easily fixed.

In fact, I've fixed it... e-mail me at jdmphoto@hotmail.com and I'll e-mail it to ya!
