Fingers crossed

Got a call from Mom this morning. (calls at 6:30 in the morning are never good) My Nan is back in hospital. It's not looking good. Perforated stomach, or cancer, or both, they can't say for certain at this point. Regardless, she is refusing surgery, so the next call I get might not be good.

I know she's 94 and she's lived a full life, but I'm not done with my Grandmother yet, so she can't go.

If you've got a bit of positive energy can you spare, send it to IC in the palliative car unit at the Halifax Infirmary, there's an old broad that could use it.

Thanks.

Thanks.

It's rough being far from home at times like this... If it weren't for Didier I'd be a total mess already. Not to mention knowing y'all are there too...

I checked in again with my Mom at lunch, they (the medical staff) have my Nan sedated and say it's extremely difficult to call... it could be anything from today, to days from now. They've also transfered her to the Victoria General (for some unknown reason) She's given up the fight, but then she's always been a fighter... she's gonna have to explain that to her body...

Wow. I was born in the Halifax Infirmary - second floor - 50 years ago - but I thought they closed it down.
Is this a NEW Halifax Infirmary?
In any case, I will send any and all positive vibes her way - and your way, too - in the hopes that my being born there will mean something extra.
Okay, so I just read your post above. So much for that...but I have ALSO spent lots of time being 'repaired' in the V.G., so - again - hoping for a closer connection to whoever hears these prayers!
Thinking about you. I know this must be really tough for you.

Thanks guys.

Yea it's the 'new' Infirmary.

Just spoke to Mom again. The Dr's say because of her state and the refusal for treatment, that she will likelt pass in the following 24hours to 3 day. It's really impossible to say anything more. They have her on a sugar/water drip and had her sedated on morphine, which really is all they can do for her otherwise. Mom and my Uncle George got some time with her today before the morphine kicked into overdrive, I'm glad they got to in that little extra time.

So now we wait, and pray for her peace.

Thanks all, it really does help.

Sorry I would have written sooner, but I've been home with a sick child today. Not fun!
Coming out both ends. Poor thing...

I wish your Nan a very speedy recovery, sometimes they are stronger than we all give them credit for.

Hang in there Nana, Kitty needs ya.

Kitty, any and all good vibes will be sent the way of your Nan. I lost my grandma when I was 16, and to this day, I still miss her. Praying for your family...
