Join me, won't you?

You ever hear a song, that no matter how much you dislike it you cannot help but hum or sing along with it... and then, god help you... you hear it in your head for the rest of the day? Yea we all have 'em, mine is "One Heart" by Céline Dion. It gives me a rash!

I personally blame Mix 96 for this continued torment...I ask N@ time and time again, please, stop playing that song. (Secretly I think she likes it, or at the very least likes the fact that the song gives me seizures) She played it AGAIN yesterday and I asked "WHY? does she have to keep playing it..."and then I asked, " Would it help if I created a petition?" She replied vaaaaaaaaaaaugly a 'maybe'...

Look, I'm not saying Céline is a bad singer, she's got her appeal and she's got her fans. Personally I don't mind her, and actually prefer when she is singing in french. There's some great stuff on "Deux". I don't go out of my way to NOT listen to her, but... this song... THIS SONG... "One Heart" ... it gives me cramps! And to make matters worse, when I hear it I end up humming and singing it for the rest of the day! I don't want to... but it's a curse, a jinx, a plague on me...

Well sometimes in life ya gotta draw a line in the sand, take a stand, fight the good fight. This, is mine. So, I've created a group on Facebook. Join me won't you...

You don't need to be in Montréal, you just need to NOT like the song "One Heart" by Céline Dion.

And if you don't have a Facebook account, feel free to join your name here.

Today "One Heart", Tomorrow "Umbrella".

Thanks you one and all!

no offence taken...
it's all a matter of taste....
i don't like absolutely EVERYTHING in her repertoire. but i do like her, yes, generally speaking...
you see, for me, it's more annie villeneuve's "tomber de haut" that grates my nerves, or "jingle bells" by barbara steisand, though i love bearbra, you'd think she's on crack when she sings that so0ng.
or, worst of all, 'the 12 days of xmas" any versions...
lucrecia even went so far to tease me by giving me a holiday card with a partridge in a pear tree. i was nauseated...
so, go ahead...
don't think it's gonna cramp celine's style...
:D~

I like "anything" Celine. Except for her choice in a grandpa husband.

Funny, I was trying to find a way to get "Jenny from the Block" out of mine today. I don't even really care for J-Lo. DOn't ask me how it got there, however, I notice as I type this, One Heart has been running through my head. DAMN YOU KITTY!! (just kiddin, you make me laugh lots, so thanks)

Leave it to a gay guy to be tormented by a song by Celine Dion, who I really think is a Drag Queen. The whole creepy Rene thing is just a diversion, so that peeps don't figure out that she's a guy.

And as a straight guy, I gotta admit that this is quite gay: When Sugar Jones was (were?) supposed to be the next Beatles, their stupid song tormented me for weeks -- even in my sleep. Thank gawd I have expunged it from my memory, and can't remember it now -- just that it almost drove me to climb a steeple with a high-powered rifle.

Kitty, here's an idea: I think the word association thing has run its course. Congrats, though, you got what? -- sixty responses. So let's freshen things up with a song. You start with the first line, and it's up to us contribute subsequent lines, even if they're wrong a la kissthisguy.com. We've kinda done it a bit on Ma's blog, so let's see if we can expand on that.

So many things to comment on...
TB... I am a total Christmas FREAK.. love everything about it and stat listening to Christmas music in November 25th! (shut up, I know!) ANYHOO.. the 12 days of Christmas is a tough one. WAAAAAAAAY too long. I do have three versions I like tho:
1) Nathalie Cole and the London Philharmonic
2) The Muppets
3) Venus Envy (the 12 gays of Christmas)
As for Babs.. I can't cope at all with her. I want to poke her with a stick though...

Maria and NGB, Rene just freaks me out. there's something not quite human about him... his eyes I think... the freak me out .

John, Umbrella-ella-ella-aay-aay-aay. That damn chorus reminds me of a car alarm! Trust me that song will be my next target.

NGB, I'm not sure if Céline is a man, but I tell you this, I am 110% convinced that Donna Summers IS indeed a man! I swear you can even see the adam's apple! There is just no way she's a she.

And yea, I'm gonna shut down the Word Association... I cannot believe the number of comments...
:-)

I like the name that tune sorta thang. Being a total nutjob for 80's music I'll likely start there. I'll use the commute home tonight to think of a good one to start.

looking forwaed to that. didn't donna summer have children???
oh. i hear it!!!
A-D-O-P-T-I-O-N....
as for celine,
you could always re-start the whole rumormill,
that she's lesbian, rene has never
touched her a single time, hence the in-vitro...
& that when rene dies, she'll be an unconsolable widow, because she'll never remarry, no one can ever replace rene....
yeah, right...
but that would be mean...

anyway!!

Kids or no kids I still stand by my conviction that D.S. is/was a man...

Celine a dyke? you know that's a new one for me... I'd have considered that BEFORE the nose job, but not now... :-)
