Didier's Birthday.

As mentioned yesterday, I took Didier out for a light dinner at Mi Burrito (Honestly, I don't know why they continue to bring us a menu, we've been there so many times and we always, ALWAYS get the same thing.) We had a great meal, Burritos, his shrimp, mine chicken with mole sauce (what else do you expect... their name IS Mi Burrito!) and of course... Margaritas.

We then walked down to the Just For Laughs site. Strolled around, watched some buskers, got an ice cream. Caught a cute pair of fire swallowers in Tiger and... wait for it... LEOPARD PRINT! You so know these were MY kinda preformers... Called FUEGO! (Am I the only one that didn't know that Fuego means Fire in Spanish!?) Anywho they were fun... the crowd enjoyed.

Now you KNOW... I HAD to get my pic taken with em...

We then headed down to St Laurent and De Maisonneuve to watch the festival's opening night parade.

It was all 'big heads' Didier was excited about this because a troupe of 'big heads' from his hometown, Nantes, France was there.

The Three Stooges...

Laurel and Hardy...

Charlie Chaplin...

Yea baby, yea!
It was short, and sweet just like that we headed up to the Just For Laughs Museum Cabaret for our main event...

When we got to the Museum the line up was around the block... LUCKILY ( we saw a couple we knew very near the front of the line) We bee-lined for them and kissed their cheeks (as if we were SUPPOSED to be meeting them...) and stayed with them in line. HA! I have never done that before and I know it cost me some Karma points, but ya know, sometimes you just gotta be that person. It WAS Didier's birthday, he NEEDED to have a good seat!

The venue is not big, there was a little round stage in the middle with seats ringing it for a few rows, and then there were two balconies. We were able to get into the 2nd row from the stage. It was an intimate setting, and you were at moments only inches away from the action.
